Greetings & Salutations Friends!

I know it's been a while, I have been working diligently to try to reorganize the company. I know you all have anticipated on the hoodies and logo tees that were scheduled for release a few months back, but no worries - those will be back in stock relatively soon. In the mean time, we finally have our Cheating Bastard Video up on YouTube directed and created by none other than YouTube's Finest PeeDeeFlo. Warning, there is an extreme amount of profanity - viewer discretion is strongly advised! I will continue to blog about Bastard & Friends and hopefully you guys will continue to follow.

Bastard & Friends Updates!

Hi everyone, I know it's been while since I've blogged. I just wanted to give you all an update, that although it seems that we have been in hiatus - we've actually been brain storming new ideas on how we can better our company. We have a new Bastard video coming out. PDFLO Films is actually working on the trailer of the film as we speak. The Cheating Bastard video is 98% complete and we will be releasing that in the next few weeks. You guys will definitely love that video as the video contains some steamy footage. LOL =D

Also, back by popular demand for the cold winter season are our hoodies! That's right, we will be releasing Men & Women's hoodies for the winter. We're also reproducing our Black & White Logo tees! Those are currently in production and will be available in the next few short weeks, so stay tuned! We might also be releasing our Bastard & Friends Purple Logo Commandments shirt as well. So stay tuned for that! We have a lot of exciting new stuff happening in 2010 so stay tuned! If you're not already on our mailing list sign up now! SNEAK PREVIEW

Here's a sneak preview of our next upcoming short film, "Cheating Bastards." A spin-off from the hit popular TV show, Cheaters, but with a Bastard & Friends comical sense of humor. Numerous adjustments and editing are still underway and should be completed very shortly. This will just give you an idea of the storyline behind it. I promise, this will be the last fan/supporter blog this week. ;) Meet Hido hailing from Tempe, AZ. As you recall we met a lot of down-to-earth folks over at the Anime Expo in LA that we exhibited at a few weeks back. And, Hido was one of those gnarly dudes that we came across. Hido ended up copping a few of our items at the show. As it turns out, him and his team are talented 3D modelers/animators. We exchanged information at the show and ever since we've been discussing an awesome future project that should be surfacing at the end of this year/early next. What's even more amazing is that Hido and his team have put together some cool pictures just for us. This is what I love most about our supporters! Without even asking him to put together these pictures, the dude simply took the time and effort to create them. How awesome is that!? Just for being such a cool fella, I put some of these pics on our home/splash page, if you haven't already seen them. Must I remind you that we have the best supporters in the world! You guys are F*#KIN AWESOME!

YOU DOWN WITH B&F...YEAH YOU KNOW ME

OK, so I know the title of this blog is corny. Yeah I know. For some strange reason the old school track, "O.P.P." from Naughty by Nature came up in my little head as I was starting to write. Anyways, we just received some awesome pictures from one of our loyal fans/customer, Richard. Richard took a trip out to scenic Japan just a few weeks ago. And, while he was hanging out, he was rockin' some of his B&F gear. Cool stuff! Hopefully, sometime in the near future I'll be able to take a trip out there. And, I'll have to just bring Richard and the gang to show me around.

Taken at the Owakudani Valley--which emits the smell of fizzing sulfur from miles away. Richard mentioned the place smells like rotten eggs, but it's a great tourist spot because it allows people to hop on a cable car back down to Lake Ashi. In the background, Mt. Fuji.

Todai-Ji temple located in Nara, Japan. Houses one of the largest bronze Buddhas in the world. As well as serves as the Japanese HQ of the Kegon school of Buddhism. Gnarly stuff!

For those of you seeking the items that Richard is wearing, unfortunately we are all sold out with the exception of the HAT that he's sporting. And, even this item is sold out in the smallest size -- which is 7 1/4. Sorry folks!

WHO WANNA BATTLE

Another Bay Area Bboy/Bgirl event will be underway next weekend, July 25th in San Jose. Ladies and gentlemen, this is an all ages jam session that will host a generous amount of well-talented individuals showcasing their breakdancing skills. Not to mention a handful of exhibitors will be on deck displaying some of their raw pieces of items ranging from apparel and accessories. Hosted by our partner Bobbie Vie from The HeadHunters Crew straight out of San Jose CA., this dude has been holding it down for the BBOY/BGIRL community for years and has put together workshops located in the San Jose area (Alum Rock Community Center). Much love and respect goes out to Bobbie for assembling this 8th annual event!

A CLASSIC SUPPORTER

I have to admit, our customers/fans/supporters are some of the best people in the world! Some do weird and awkward things just to get our attention; some travel great lengths just to support and hang out with us at various locations; while others like Chris S. from Los Angeles come up with and illustrate what he thinks the next Bastard exposed should be. We met Chris and the gang down in LA at the Anime Expo just this past weekend. Him and his crew were one of the first groups to claim the scavenger hunt prize(s) -- Great Job! A few days later, Chris sends us this interesting comic strip of how he would interpret one of his pet peeve's..."The Gossip Bastard." Just like the Nosey Bastard that we just released (in hat form), the characteristics of the Gossip Bastard and the Nosey Bastard have distinct similarities. I'm assuming that Chris and his friends as well as the rest of us all have experienced this amusing and irritating person quite frequently in the past and possibly now. As a matter of fact, I'm sure this annoying person may even be in the same vicinity as you as you're dialed in and reading this blog.

As a side note, we love to have our followers engaged in the things we do. Therefore, be on the lookout for this Bastard to be put into a short film animation and or illustration in the near future along with some of the other Bastard suggestions we've been receiving from you all!

FINAL THOUGHTS ON ANIME

Sorry folks for the delay in posting the rest of the Anime pictures for days 3 & 4. Overall, the 4 day event went extremely well. Met a lot of great and interesting people! A vast majority came out in costumes. Some were really extravagant while others were plain and simple. The scavenger hunt with Fat Rabbit Farm was also on point. For the most part, all of the winners for the days the activity was going on ended before noon. The determined treasure hunters were on a rampage. A few came in teams to find the various items listed on both of our lists and were successful at it, too. Unfortunately, I couldn't get everyone's pictures that received their golden tickets and prizes. And, as far as the Twitter treasure hunt, some didn't claim their prizes so we ended up giving away the extra box of goodies to passionate customers along the way. There were way too many awesome moments that we all experienced at the show to write about, but here are a few I could recall:

* Awesome dude named "Saulo" visited us with the Bastard & Friends signature "X" hairline that he put together to show us love! (See pic below)
* A bunch of people from the our homeland, the Bay Area came down.
* A handful of folks came and danced in front of our booth to get some free stuff since they didn't have any money. Don't get any ideas from this.
* A 9 year old kid bought the "Bastard Boss" shirt because he thought the animation was funny so he begged his mom to buy the shirt.
* Awesome to see folks who bought our merchandise come back the next days rockin' their new gear joyfully!

The first day at Anime Expo was a lot better than what most of us had expected on the opening day. Especially, on a Thursday afternoon. They came out in droves...seriously! Anime and Manga fanatics all swarmed the convention before the doors even opened with their costumes, I might add. It was a great day! Not to mention, the Nosey Bastard Trucker hat was "definitely" a popular item of the day! Can't wait for the next 3 days to follow. Also, the 2 scavenger hunts kick off tomorrow!

Don't forget folks, Anime Expo weekend is finally here. In just 2 days, we will be participating in this massive 4 day event at the Los Angeles Convention Center that will start Thurs. (Jul 2nd) and extend all the way out to Sunday (Jul 5th).

2 Scavenger hunts will emerge starting on Friday. A total of 12 prizes will be handed out by us -- which will include various items including our new Nosey Bastard Trucker Hat. Golden tickets similar to Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory will also be handed out! In addition, our close pals from Fat Rabbit Farm will also be joining us and giving away prizes. The other scavenger hunt will be in collaboration with PDFLO -- which will take place by sending out clues from both of our Twitter accounts. In order to participate in this hunt, you need to have a Twitter account and either join ours and or PDFLO's. Film crew will also be onsite. See Flyer below for details. What I most love about working on the Bastard & Friends project is that we get a lot of support from various individuals and groups. Whether it be from rock bands, skate heads, or even other groups involved in various sub-cultures, there's always a handful that are locked and loaded and fully ready to rock their particular division with B&F gear.

Meet some of the good fellas from the far east land of the Philippines who just sent this video to us displaying another uncut set of rapping, small doses of various interviews as well as entertaining clips from the P.I. Mike Swift and J-Hon, both MC's from Brooklyn N.Y are on a mission to get to the top, that is the Billboard as these boys would say, whom currently reside in the P.I as they vigorously work to capture the attention of 50 Cent and the G-Unit Crew back here in the States aka G-Unit Asia. No stranger to MCing, these 2 guys alone cover miles of terrain stretching all the way from the P.I back to the U.S as they perform at countless amounts of various venues. Whether they are performing in front of a crowd of 50 or a stadium full of people reaching the thousands, these two dudes show no signs of loosing steam and always put on an entertaining act as they showcase their rhyming skills. Bilingual, I might add. These two guys have been around awhile. As a matter of fact, I heard about Mike Swift from a magazine called "YRB" (Issue #80 The Art Issue) sometime ago when he had an exclusive 1 page article written about him (see image below). Incredibly, this man was flown from the P.I over to L.A to meet with one of hip-hop's notorious and scariest producers, Suge Knight. That's what I call some buzz. When Death Row Records' founder calls you and has you flown all the way from across the world to lay out a few tracks, that's what you call some serious noise throughout the hip-hop community.

THE BEAT FREAKS

Attended the Renegade Rockers 26th Anniversary all ages Hip Hop Event yesterday with Leah and Tito over at the City Nights night club in SF. On deck were special guests, the sickest b-girl group on the planet, The Beat Freaks. All 7 ladies (Bgirl Shorty, Outthere, Rino, Maryss From Paris, Lady Jules, Lock N Key, and Teresa) put on another breathtaking and epic performance. Showcasing their raw b-girl talents as what was uncovered on Season 3's America's Best Dance Crew, these ladies are undoubtedly the most amazing all girl group I've ever seen step foot on the dance crew circuit! An ample crowd consisting of spectators/b-boys/b-girls/dance crews and clothing brands were all in attendance.

Hanging out in the VIP area with the ladies was also a fun and exciting experience. All of them were totally awesome to say the least. Very down-to-earth and showed much love and support for us as well. So much support that Maryss, LindseyB aka Outthere, and Rino were rockin' our gear at the show! Much love and props for these ladies and the rest of the crew! We all wish you girls the best! And, more gear will be coming your way in the future...trust me!

Just received an email reminding us that the World of Dance Tour is coming back around to Cali in August (San Diego) and in October (San Mateo) to close out the 2009 Tour. Still tentative about attending the event in San Diego, but we will for sure be exhibiting at the San Mateo Expo center in October. If you didn't get a chance to check out the footage of the Pomona event held back in April that we exhibited at through Vimby's eyes, check it out below. Our friends Kelly and Jenise flew all the way in from Miami a few days ago to hang out under the California sun. Or I should say, under the San Francisco fog. lf you recall, we supplied Jenise a bunch of gift bags for her 30th birthday bash in Miami Beach a few months back. Jenise, a marketing manager for a small technology firm and Kelly whom is a VP over at Whole Foods were generous enough to have Sharon and I over for dinner last night. Many conversations spawned over the course. True believers in saving the planet and eating organic and natural products, these two individuals truly believe in spirituality and the gift of life. To come to think of it, both of their personalities sorta remind me of the character 'Mr. Cheezle' in the movie Grandma's Boy.

First off 'THANK YOU' for your kind and generous words! A good majority of our customers are actually out of the Boston area as a matter of fact. Everyone from Mass. are Awesome! We get a lot of love from that side of the country. Anyhow, I admire those that have the drive and vision to be able to start something that they can call 'their own.' It's tough and challenging, to say the least. Especially, during these difficult economic times. As you have experienced already, if not will be, anytime you decide to take the entrepreneur route you'll soon realize that it's more than just passion and the desire that will get you from point A to point B. Although, those are important factors, it takes a lot of energy. And lots of it I might add and sacrifices. Also, understand that there are no shortcuts whatsoever. Just like school, you need to constantly do your homework; make an agenda. Setup goals and objectives and make sure you put deadlines next to each and every one. Be very personable! Networking is key. You'll learn a lot from people who are actually doing it. Surround yourself with those that are in the same industry. I truly believe that the people you hang around with now, will dictate what your future will be like in the next 5 years. Books/magazines/forums etc..are also good to absorb, but interacting with key people will provide you a much more solid foundation. Having deep pockets is also good. By that I mean, you're going to hit road blocks where money is a deciding factor. Make sure that not only you're able to fund your start-up, but also ensure you have the capability to make purchases after you launch. Nobody wants to see a company that does things 1/2 ass. Nor, do they want to see a brand that will only sustain a 1-2 year duration. Moreover, think outside of the box. Don't be afraid to be creative and do things your way. When the industry goes left, you go right. More importantly, make sure you know and understand your demographic! Interestingly, I always here people tell me that their brand caters to everyone. Bull Shit! No it doesn't. It's sad, but that seems to be the blanket/general statement people say about their brand. Another thing that people tend to forget is the marketing aspect. The days of just marketing on myspace and other social community sites, IMHO are gone. Discover alternative avenues; hit the streets; network and attend trade shows; sponsor events, if you can etc. There's also various ways you can market with very little money. But, creativity is key. Further, aim towards not only be a t-shirt line. Honestly, there are thousands of t-shirt lines out there. Whenever you obtain your funds from selling your t-shirts, make sure you turn it around and add other items into the mix. Diversify your inventory. And lastly...have fun and don't give up! Remember, there will be a lot of road bumps ahead, but plow right through each and every one of them in order to fulfill what ultimately will make you and your boyfriend happy in the end. I almost forgot... trademark your stuff. Put in the extra effort and money to engage legitimate trademark and copyright attorneys. I can go on for days, but I'll stop for now.

CANADA CONT...

Just like the majority of our trips, it's the 'get in and get out' type of attitude whenever we leave home to meet with our contacts. Or, even trade shows for that matter. I didn't get much time to explore all of Vancouver as much as I would have liked to. When your sole objective is to meet with partners and suppliers, there's not much vacationing involved. The agenda and calendar is mainly comprised of back-to-back meetings. And, every so often lunch and dinner as well as a few stops at a few tourist spots. Not to mention, a few short hours of sleep (2-4 hours). The next time I'm back in the area, I'm going to have to take the rest of the gang out here and visit a couple tourist spots that I missed during my stint here in B.C Canada.

Until then, it's back to the Bay, ay! ;)

B&F INFILTRATING CANADA

Touched down in Vancouver just a few hours ago after a slight delay in SF. Aside from the minor delay back in the Bay Area and listening to this lady in the next seat over being emotional after a few alchoholic beverages in her system and practically having a nervous breakdown, the trip was quite pleasant. After landing and moving through the customs line at a snail's pace, I had to jump into a taxi to bolt me over to the downtown area in order to meet with a few of our vendors at a sweet seafood spot on the West Side called The Salmon House to discuss current as well as future B&F projects. Projects and tangible items that are so cool, I'm hoping to deliver them to the masses in the near future. But, of course before anything is released to you guys we have to make sure that everything is all in place -- which is the reason why I'm out here in Canada for a few short days; listenining, learning, and participating. Not to mention, I'm trying to change my American accent to a Canadian one so I can master the mild accent by saying words like 'aboat' rather than 'about.' You Canadians know what I'm saying. :) The view and the ambiance at this place by the way, is remarkable and stunning to say the least and highly recommended if visiting the area.

Well, it's getting late and have to wake up early again to have another fun and promising meeting with some great folks before heading back home. So, I'll call it a night.

A few hours back Joey Diamond, another YouTube phenomenon whom has a sizeable following of 18,600+ subscribers currently, put together another vocal performance that usually elates his followers and sends shivers down their spines. Just a few days ago, we decked out Joey with some of our gear during our photo shoot held in SF (scroll down to check the post a few days ago). In return, he put together this easing and sincere video for not only us, but his fans and supporters. ANIME EXPO

Going on the road yet again to exhibit at another show in the LA area. For all you Anime and Manga fanatics, and I know there are packs of you, we will be at the massive 4 day Anime Expo show located at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 2nd - July 5th. As of yesterday, our rep positioned us in booth#627 near the front entrance and adjacent to some of the big guys (Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Digital Manga).

For this show we will be doing our traditional every hour on the hour prize giveaways. To further add to our own prizes -- which will be some of our new 'Nosey Bastard' Trucker hats (see blog below), we will also be including designer toys courtesy of our counterparts Dragatomi. That's right folks, those that received prizes at Wondercon SF 2009 know what I'm talking about.

Also our brother from another mother, PDFLO will also be guest appearing in our booth for a few hours each day. Not to mention, we will be doing a contest/treasure hunt utilizing our Twitter as well as PDFLO's. So, join ours or PDFLO's before the show in order to get additional prizes at the show.

I also had a chance to test out a few of my new lenses for my camera. I know some of you have asked what camera I use and currently I have a Nikon D60. I've been shooting a lot of my shots with the standard 18-55mm (52mm) lens and occasionally the 55-200mm as well. Both have been working just fine for quite awhile now, but I decided to step up the game a bit more with some new lenses. I shot the below beach scenery shots over at a place called 'Pebble Beach' located by nearby Monterey, CA to see the outcome. During this escape, I used both an Nikkor 85 mm telephoto lens and a wideangle 20mm lens. I utilized various manual and aperture settings for both. The first 2 pictures had the following settings set: 85mm lens: Aperture f/14; ISO 100; WB Cloudy; Matrix Metering. While the following were shot with the 20mm lens with the settings of: Aperture f/14; ISO 200; WB Cloudy and Sunny; Matrix Metering. All with manual focus enabled.

LUDACRIS WITH OUR VERY OWN

While I'm still on the topic of exposing some of our team members, our very own Justin from the East Coast (ATL) is responsible for helping with the promotions and other business activities on the other side of the continent. While he's doing a superb job with the normal B&F projects and while living in the ATL, he religiously gets his haircuts from his long time personal barber Cassius aka 'The Celebrity Barber' whom is the same personal barber for more then a handful of celebrities such as: T.I, Usher, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and Ludacris to name a few. As so it happens today, Justin synced up with Cassius, Luda, and his manager 'Chaka' over at Cassius' place to get faded up before the long weekend.

Big shout out to Luda, Chaka, and Cassius for the support. And don't worry fellas your stuff is on the way as promised!

SKATE OR DIE

Headed over to the skate park today to hang out and watch some of our guys (Ryan and Bryan) shred the landscape in the blistering heat. These two dudes from Northern Cali (Contra Costa County) display some rad and technical tricks with ease. I wish I caught the other tricks that they as well as the other guys were performing such as: tre flips over the 5 stairs, rail slides, nose slides to shove it and many more. Not to mention, it was around 98 degrees outside and skating in that type of weather tends to wear you down relatively fast. Next time I'm back, I'll have to capture all of it. But for now enjoy the quick video and a few pics I managed to gather.

Just got back from visiting Agent R and Joanne from Dragatomi over at their new home in Sacramento. As I mentioned the other day, today was their grand opening of their storefront. And, what better day to finally open their doors on one of the most busiest days of every month, Second Saturday. On this particular day, art galleries along the Sacramento strip leave their doors open late inviting guests and art enthusiasts to participate in the Art walk. Not your typical Art walk, this type of gathering boasts guests from all over the Sacramento area as well as vendors showcasing their talents ranging from art, music as well as simply hanging out and hosting parties. Droves come out for this event that starts at 6pm and lasts throughout the night. I have to admit, I'm very proud of our good friends Joanne and Raymond (aka Agent R). Talk about guts and a lot of heart, this couple has managed to open a brick and mortar store amid our nation's financial crisis. While some retailers have closed their doors and other's have scaled back on production due to the recession our nation is facing, these two entrepreneurs decided to open a store on the Sacramento downtown street within walking distance of Upper Playground as well as other Urban Boutiques. Sacramento definitely has things set out for them as Dragatomi is one of the only, if not the only store within miles that carry these types of unique and collectible items. For the most part, people from Sacramento had to drive to San Francisco to step into a type of boutique like this in order to get their hands on vinyl and designer toys. The store setting is immaculate; the ambiance is chill and represents a boutique like environment and the displays are flawless that house cool figures that are designed by some of the most prominent artists in the industry today. So, if you're ever in the Sacramento area, stroll on through and pick up a few things. As a side note, we dropped off a bunch of hats to them as well. So, pick one up if you get a chance.

UNIQUE LA RECAP

After a long and exciting 2 days over at the show, it finally came to an end yesterday. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to blog about Saturday's show experience since we ended up doing a few things right after the show and getting to bed late. Also, had a long day yesterday that involved getting out of the building with all of our stuff and driving home relatively late last night. So, I'll just give everyone a brief recap of what went down over the course of the 2 day period. Sonja, the person responsible for putting together the gathering did a nice job. With the exception of the air conditioning situation in our area and our booth location, I'd have to say the event was put together quite nicely. A good number of vendors showcased their items; an ample size crowd attended the intimate and engaging show as well as a selection of various music choices were being spun by the show DJ which in turn were being projected throughout all of the show speakers. Met a lot of great people throughout the entire time! All the vendors that I got a chance to speak with were all super nice and cool! The same holds true for all of the customers and attendees. The overall response from our customers, as well as those that just wanted to hear the idea and story behind our company were surprisingly very interested. They embraced and championed us all the way. As with our past shows, there's always an individual or group of people who share stories with us that tend to be touching and brightens our day. True story -- a 3rd grade teacher. Yes, that's right a 3rd grade teacher from LA said she had to stop by our booth because she said she see's our stuff all over the campus and wanted to know 'if it was a bad thing?' After Sharon explained to her what the company is all about, the teacher then said our brand was 'cool and awesome' and now she knows why she see's our stuff around her school. So, for those elementary kids rockin' our gear at school, please hand the item(s) back to your older brother/sister/cousin until you get a little older. And, no more placing our stickers all over the campus. THANKS KIDS! ;) Overall, vibes were good and it was another successful and exceptional show, to say the least!

After the show on Saturday, we all bolted out to catch the Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton boxing fight on TV -- which was live in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, no places in the area and even the hotel were displaying it. So, after countless minutes of stress trying to find it streaming live on the internet, we finally found it and watched it on the MAC. But get this, it wasn't commentated in English. It was in freakin' Portuguese! Nothing against this at all, it was just we don't understand the language. LOL! Oh well, Manny came out victorious by basically almost murdering Hatton in the 2nd round by TKO. Shortly after, we all headed over to Pasadena for Leah's surprise B-day get together at a Japanese BBQ Hot Pot style type dinner, Gyu-Kaku. After a delicious dinner, a lot of funny and interesting stories from all the ladies and a few sake bombs later, we finally ended the night in good vibes.

Sunday evening was also pretty delightful! After the show, we all went to a place where everybody and their mama it seems raves about this place. Sharon and I never been, but apparently the combination of certain items just make you go crazy. That place...Roscoe's Chicken' n Waffles located in LA on W. Pico Blvd. I have to admit, this combination is pretty 'DAMN' good IMHO. The #3 consisting of a 1/2 chicken prepared southern style with 2 waffles and sides of candied yams, macaroni cheese and being topped off with their sweet tea is not only fulfilling, but as we Northern Cali folks would say, 'hella good!'

The team, always putting in long hours and time away from family while always having a blast!

Bastard & Friends in LA

We touched down at our second home, LA earlier today to setup at the UNIQUE LA show that will be held tomorrow and Sunday. The first thing we did today was check-in at our hotel -- which is a few blocks away from the event in the heart of the Jewelry & Fashion Districts. If you're ever in the downtown LA area, you may want to check out the Biltmore Hotel. Known for it's history of hosting numerous movies on the property, you've seen this particular hotel many times in the entertainment biz (see a partial movie list below). Shortly after, Sharon and I headed over to the Market Center where Unique LA will be jumping off (Penthouse 13th Floor Booth#219). Right around the corner from us are some good folks: Dave aka Seibei, Wendy from I Heart Guts, and Johnny Cupcakes to name a few. Aside from transporting all of our stuff up and down the elevator and across the building, I'd say things were pretty nifty. Also, the window view from our booth is amazing as well! A few hours after, we were on the road again to meet with a couple of our vendors. The next stop was over at one of our printing places located in Beverly Hills. Then onto Simi Valley to go visit our other manufacturer/vendor responsible for putting our new product line together in the near future. But, before that trip over to Simi Valley, I got pulled over before jumping on the 405 Freeway for making an illegal U-Turn due to the dang GPS telling me to do so. Funny story -- as the cop approaches the car, he see's the B&F sticker decal on my back window and the 'Don't be a Bastard' license plate frame. After asking for my license and telling me my wrong doing, he then asks about the things on my license plate and on my window. After telling him about what we are all about and having him crack up and than announce a few of his Bastard experiences, miraculously he let's me go without a ticket! I can't remember his name, but I told him I'd blog about him. So, if you're reading this...THANKS for not being a 'Bastard!' ;)

As most of you are aware after browsing and attempting to purchase the items in the shopping area, there are limited quantities of items available. A lot of our sizes are sold out while some products in general are completely sold out. We've been receiving a lot of emails asking to re-stock sizes as well as completely bringing back certain products in general after being sold out. For the most part, we've been pretty responsive and have explained why we will not be bringing those items back or re-stocking the sizes. But, here's a brief little explanation as to why we are adamant about our decision:

A lot of our items such as the scenario based tee's are limited to 251 count (ie: freeloading bastard tee), therefore only this amount was ever printed for these type of shirts. So, if a certain size is sold out, it's sold out forever. The other concerns addressed are the re-stocking of belts, hoodies, and men's black logo tees. Amazingly, these items left the shelves fairly quickly in the past few months. Especially, at the shows we've exhibited at. We even re-stocked these items a bunch of times. I'd say we probably re-ordered from our vendors 3-5 times to keep up with the demand. After our last set was sold out for these items, we made a decision to not make these anymore since there was a massive amount already purchased by our customers. Our intent was to ensure that the customers who already purchased them possessed something special rather than an item that everybody else was rockin'. Basically, to keep them exclusive. One of the things I wanted to point out also is that when a specific design is completely sold out, we will never re-make that particular product with the same design. Sorry folks! I'll have to admin we're going to be Bastards on this one! Hope that clarifies things for those people we haven't responded to as of yet. We are still working on responding to your calls and emails. Nevertheless, we'll get to everyone within the next day before we take off to our next show in LA this weekend, UNIQUE LA.

THE CHEATING BASTARD

Another entertaining B&F film piece is underway and is due to be released in the near future. As with the last Meet the Bastards short film (Bad Breath Bastard), this upcoming clip is spearheaded once again by PDFLO and the PDFLO film crew.

Embrace yourself, this next animation combined with live action hits a touchy and sadly, but true subject amongst a wide range of individuals in our society. You either know this person or unfortunately have been directly affected by him. The next Bastard to be exposed in a comical and twisted Bastard & Friends sense, without further ado...The Cheating Bastard!

Our approach this time around was to establish a spin-off from the ever so popular hit show Cheaters, but with a traditional B&F style behind it. We also ended up naming the show 'Cheating Bastards' instead of using the actual show name 'Cheaters.' When this piece is complete, you'll clearly notice the similarities. At the same time, you'll also notice distinct differences. If you have never heard of the show 'Cheaters,' the shortest way to describe it is a TV show dedicated to exposing the truth behind questionable individuals involved in a relationship. In other words, if a person is suspecting that their partner is cheating on them, they hire the show 'Cheaters' hosted by Joey Greco to investigate/follow the cheater around to determine whether or not that person is indeed conducting any kind of foul play activity. If they find that the person is cheating, they notify the person who called upon them for their assistance. This is when the show gets spicy and exciting! 'Cheaters' then shows video footage to the person getting cheated on. Shortly after, the confrontation happens in which the whole film crew along with the impacted person confronts the cheater. Most of these confrontations end in major arguments and in some cases fist fights.

Once again, the film is being shot and edited at PDFLO studios down in So. Cal as well as various locations in the area. This particular piece is going to be raw, uncut and funny! So, stay tuned!

Anyone who's been around since the late 80's or has older siblings could recall a boy band that consisted of 5 young and very talented individuals (Jordan, Jonathan, Joey, Danny, and Donnie). The group -- New Kids on the Block (aka NKOTB). Straight from the streets of Boston Mass., these guys were the biggest pop music sensation along with Michael Jackson that emerged onto the music air waves during that era. Songs such as: "Please Don't Go Girl", "(You Got It) The Right Stuff," "I'll Be Lovin' You (Forever)" all had a fair share of seeing the #1 spot on the Billboard Charts. Their second album "Hangin' Tough" even went on to be one of the most recognized and well-accomplished albums in music history as this album had gone platinum eight times! A few years later, after a hallmark of songs and showcases that fueled their long standing success, the group then separated. Fast forward 15 years later, the same fellas that were once every young girl's heartthrob during that time re-emerged and reunited last year. One of their first songs that have already seen the top of the charts is a song that they connected with talented R&B singer/songwriter "Ne-Yo" for a smashing single called "Single."

OK, so where am I going with all of this. Last night me and a few of the ladies headed down to Fresno CA. to personally meet all 5 of the NKOTB and attend their live concert via 5 Star VIP via ILoveAccess, organized by Corinne. Ready and equipped with my Bastard & Friends Gift Bags for the boys, along with our Exclusive "Bastard & Friends Hearts NKOTB" shirts that I made for all of us, we began our fun filled adventurous 3 hour long road trip from the Bay Area to Fresno. The Savemart Center was filled with die hard NKOTB fans. I imagine that these were the little girls who never stopped the love and support for the band. I myself am a true fan, personally of Joe McIntyre, my favorite amongst the group. The 5 Star VIP program only allowed 10 fans at a time to meet with them. During that time, I handed the B&F gift Bags for the NKOTB to their assistants then I was greeted by Joey and Danny, both giving me a warm hug. During the course of our conversation, they were both interested in the logo and t-shirts that we were all wearing. I explained to them the B&F concept and history as both were definitely interested and gave me their warm wishes. Joe gave me a "High Five" and was extremely supportive. I never thought possible that I would actually be conversing with him and the rest of the crew regarding the concept and history of Bastard & Friends. The Meet & Greet lasted no more than 5 minutes, which ended with 2 unforgettable photos of us ladies and the NKOTB.

We were then ready to rock the house with none other than ABDC's season one winner, Jabbawockeez as the opening act for the concert. After another outstanding performance by this crew, NKOTB soon took over the stage. Sitting 6 rows from the stage we witnessed an unforgettable performance of them singing their new and old songs. Midway through the performance, Joe was rockin' the classic B&F white logo tee (pic below). Amazingly, Joe spotted me and the ladies in the crowd of over 10,000+ screaming fans and pointed at his shirt with a wink. And, I in return gave him a thumbs up for representin' B&F in front of a massive crowd. This wild and once in a life time experience went on for at least 4 whole songs to my recollection. Among those songs were "Single" and "2 in the Morning." AWESOME!!!

The World of Dance over in Pomona on Saturday has come and gone. For those that didn't get a chance to attend, this event was a blast from all aspects! The attendance was bigger than what we all had originally anticipated. As most of you are aware, this was our first appearance down in So. Cal. And, I have to admit the love and support from all the folks ranging from the attendees, the vendors, and even the WOD management were all welcoming, supportive, but more importantly embraced the brand with open arms. More on this in just a bit.

Sharon and I ended up driving down to the LA County area last week on Wednesday night so that we could meet up with a few people before the actual show on Saturday. Our first initial stop on the stomping grounds was a quick visit to help out setting up a booth for a good friend of ours (Tony) at the Anaheim Convention Center for the Orange County Boat Show. The next night (Friday) the remaining crew arrived from the Bay Area ready as ever to help out with the show. That same night, PDFLO invited us over to his film & editing studio over in Signal Hill to come hang out at the new home for all his and his crews' upcoming film projects. The place is pretty sweet! Unfortunately, the place wasn't fully setup since he just moved in, but the place houses a recording/editing room, a spacious office, an enormous section specifically for his green screen film shots, and a dedicated area for when they cast for actors or showcase their premiers. We stayed for a few hours chatting with PeeDee, Timothy and the rest of the gang about up and coming projects from both of our worlds as well as the history behind Bastard & Friends. A few hours later and a large pizza absorbed into our bodies in less than a few minutes, I think we all walked away with not only new ideas, but also answers to some of the questions that we all never discussed before. Definitely a great night to remember with the exception of the million connecting freeways in the LA County that we had to jump on to and from the studio.

Onto the show day. Just to circle back around, Dave whom is the man responsible from putting the WOD show together invited me to check out the Pomona Fairplex on Friday to look at the booth location as well as the setup of the place before the initial move-in on Saturday -- which was pretty awesome since it gave me a better idea of how we should setup and position our stuff to display for the attendees. As for the show itself, it was super fun! They all came in droves ready to battle, showcase their talents, mingle/hangout, scout, and purchase items offered by the various brands positioned in their booths. I have to admit, the first hour was slow for us. Shortly after that was soon changed. As the night started to approach more and more people started to gather, make purchases and return for their prizes that they won from us. With the help of our team passing out a 1,000 flyer's with raffle tickets to the people and an appearance by Timothy and PDFLO, overall the event was 'A SUCCESS' for all of us! The new purple logos as well as the the classic black and white logo tees flew off the shelves in no time along with the other various items. Our trip back home was a much lighter load. Tim almost even sold out on his Rush Hour CD from his abundance of fans/supporters that came to see him. At times it overwhelming for all of us. Those die hard fans are something else! The show itself was put together nicely by management. The flow of traffic and the location in 1 building with a few outside vendors flowed pretty smoothly. There were 2 total buildings. I believe each was 30,000 square feet in which both were packed. Bldg 8 was setup for the big dance/choreo showcases such as: Beat Freaks, Quest Crew and other big group competitions. Meanwhile, Bldg 5 where we were, maintained the fashion vendors, and freestyle/3 on 3/5 on 5 dance battles. The outside middle arena that connected the two buildings was the food court and a few vendors sprinkled throughout the proximity. Just to highlight, within various sections of each area/building were dance battles being held throughout. Some pretty cool, interesting, and exciting stuff, to say the least!

'THANK YOU' to everyone who came out and supported Bastard & Friends along with PDFLO films (PeeDee and Timothy). You all made the 370+ mile trip down to So. Cal awesome and worthwhile!!

WORLD OF DANCE TOMORROW!

As a reminder, if you're in So. Cal tomorrow (Sat) come stop by at the World of Dance Tour event in Pomona held at the Pomona Fairplex as we will be exhibiting from 3pm - 11pm. Unfortunately, we don't have the booth location to let you guys know where to find us as of yet. That will come tomorrow, the day of the show. Nonetheless, the last time I spoke with the guy that put together the event (Dave), we'll be indoors in between the two stages located at 1 of the 2 buildings in a 10x20 booth. Trust me, you won't miss us! More dance crews/b-boys/b-girls along with an abundance of 100+ brands in the fashion/accessories industry, this event is suppose to be bigger, better, and more organized then last years WOD events! We're excited!

Our partner Simon from the Asian rock/electro/punk music group, The Slants just sent over this awesome pic of him playing bass at the SXSW music festival that was just held in Austin, TX that crammed over 3,000 bands across the 5 day period. Known for their entertaining and raw sounds similar to that of world renown 'Depeche Mode,' these dudes (Simon, Aron, Gaijin, Johnny, and Tyler) based out of Portland, OR have been been touring the U.S for quite some time now. Talk about hard work, since their inception (2006) the group has jumped around from venue-to-venue across the country 5 times already. Since we're about addressing reality, we took it upon ourselves to put emphasis on an individual that has a high and irritating effect on those impacted by the disgusting and fowl smell of funk coming from ones mouth. So without further ado, we bring you the 'Bad Breath Bastard!'

If you've been following my blog for sometime now, this new video is affiliated with our new Series2 Bastards. As we transcend to another level of bringing you entertainment in the form of short film making, the 'Bad Breath Bastard' was to be the first of the 6 exposed in this family series. For our Series1 short films, only traditional Flash animation was utilized for all 6 Bastard scenarios. As we started to think about the next series of Bastard films, we thought it would be cool and different to not only incorporate the same traditional animation, but to also embody a new element -- which was combining it with real live action. This is also the case for the remaining Series2 short films. A task like this was something we knew would be rigorous and challenging, to say the least. So, we decided to call upon one of our good pal's and YouTube's finest Director extraordinaire's, PeeDeeFlo from PDFLO Films to get the job done. No stranger to film making and putting together one of the most well-known viral videos on the net today, Kings of Myspace with close friend and other infamous YouTuber, Timothy Delaghetto, when PeeDee and I spoke about this project back in JAN09, he had never touched a project like this. Fortunately for us, he decided to pursue it and move forward with all the details despite the complexity of the assignment.

Key Notes about this piece:
* Filming/casting started back in the first week of FEB09
* Filmed in HD format 1080P
* Adobe Creative Suite CS4 was fully relied on in order to deliver the results
* Set was intentionally set up to create a party like setting -- which was established and shot at a house location in Southern Cali (Paramount CA.)
* Amazingly, the overall duration is a little under 3mins. However, over 100 Hrs. was put into this short film alone
* Intricate, time consuming details and effort were implemented such as including a shadow of the Bastard character and ensuring it's in sync with his overall body movement. Not to mention, full body movement and expression was created (watch his face when he speaks and shadow movement).

Note:
Unfortunately, since the resolution of the high def film is huge, we had to compromise the overall quality of the film and shrink the resolution size down a bit so that it could be observed without having to scroll while watching the film. This only affects the featured film under the Meet the Bastards section only and not on our YouTube account. Make sure you have Flash installed before playing the video and be patient because this particular film takes a little longer to stream then the others!

Mighty 4 Hip Hop/Street Jam

Yesterday, a few of us attended the Mighty 4 event held over in SF at Cellspace hosted by Master Culture & Armory for one of our extended family members of B&F, Paulskeee. A key and driven player in the urban community, Paulskeee is dedicated and very passionate in throwing events catering to B-boys, dance crews and everyone else seeking entertainment closely related to the roots of Hip Hop/street culture. Celebrating his 31st birthday at a location where underground raves in the 90's would have been thrown at in the outskirts of downtown SF, Paulskeee's gathering had an abundance of youthful individuals bustin' their b-boy & b-girl moves in various sizable circles. Battle circles, that is. Individuals ranging from all ages, these folks were ready to put on a show for all the spectators in this ample size warehouse. Numerous dance crews were representin' and rockin' hard to the true old school b-boy beats. A show was also kicked off sometime in the mid afternoon by none other, Supreme Soul (America's Best Dance Crew Season 2 members). Altogether, the show was put together very well. I truly respect Mighty 4 for putting together shows like this for the urban community. It's positive, vibes are good, and venues like these are one of a kind -- which gives kids and young adults a place to hang out at without getting into trouble. All in all, it's a movement that will never be stopped! Affairs like these should never be overlooked because the urban community is getting bigger and gaining ground at a much more anticipated rate these days!

That's right ladies and gentlemen, World of Dance Tour is just around the corner. This much anticipated event kicks off the tour in Southern Cali at the Pomona Fairplex in Pomona on Saturday April 4th. For those of you unaware, WOD is the largest West Coast urban dance competition. With huge success and popularity from MTV's America's BEST DANCE CREW, these types of events are becoming more recognized and followed by a vast audience especially from the urban community. You can expect to see b-boys/b-girls/dance crews reporting to their battle circles to display their fancy moves and footwork with hopes to out-dance their competition. Even more exciting, it was announced that a few MTV ABDC crews will be reporting to their posts as well: Season 3 ABDC winner (Quest), Season 3 runner-ups (Beat Freaks) and many more. WOD has also conceded that an event like this isn't the same without some of today's fashion forward and independent street wear brands being conjoined. Thus, an immense collection of apparel, accessories and other items that cater to this demographic will be largely displayed. Coincidentally, we will also be attending this event and showcasing our current items as well as a few exclusive World of Dance tee's along with a few accessories that have never been displayed on our site ever before. In addition, for all you YouTube fanatics, we're bringing out the infamous Timothy Delaghetto to join forces with us. Mr. Entertainment himself will be at our booth from 5pm -8pm in which he will also be unloading his new EP 'The Rush Hour.'

And, just for kicks we are planning to unload a bunch of Bastard boxes once again. As we did at our past event at WonderCon SF, we'll be attaching raffle tickets to our flyers at the show. Our street team will be in full force once again handing these out. All you have to do is detach one of the tickets, come by and drop it off and check back every hour from 4pm - 11pm to see if you're the lucky winner who takes home a huge box filled with gifts and prizes. PATIENTLY WAITING

My apologies for not keeping the blog up-to-date. After WonderCon as well as planning for the World of Dance Tour event down in Pomona, CA. on Saturday, April 4th and a quick trip down to Southern California just a few days ago, blogging was pretty much kept on the back burner. And, as a heads up I'll keep continuing to blog as much as I possibly can in the next few months while we're maintaining the busy atmosphere here at the Bastard & Friends headquarters. In the next few months, we're going to be hitting the road and attending various shows throughout California. After the WonderCon stint, it was requested by our supporters and apparent by us that we make an effort and appear at other events. So, keep posted on a list of upcoming events on either our blog and or our home/splash page in the near future. In the meantime, we're working on putting up an Events page under the 'Warp Zone' section in order to track where you'll find us next.

Moving along, Sharon and I took another quick trip down to So. Cal over the weekend to meet with a good pal of ours (Tony) whom is widely known throughout the garment and accessories industry. Jumping in the car on a Friday evening and driving down to Simi Valley for a meeting on Saturday morning that lasted 7hrs. starting from 10am and then heading back to the Bay Area the same day was what was on the agenda. As much as I like to blog and expose people, this particular write-up is an exception. Tony, who is a key player in his industry prefers to stay behind the scenes. But, let's just say he's worked and still continues to work with key players (shot callers) from Ecko, Zoo York, DC, Hurley, O'Neal, Ambiguous, Split, Fox Racing, Arai Helmets and the list goes on forever. The most well-connected individual that we've ever come across, I have the utmost respect for this gentlemen who has made great strides in not only building his brand, but also helping others establish a name for themselves. With offices in the U.S, Vietnam, and in Europe his continuing efforts are still creating some serious impact on the companies mentioned above. There was never a dull moment during our conversation that lasted 7 whole hours. Everything about the industry was pretty much touched on. Very overwhelming at times, but yet we craved more and more of it. The best way to describe the affair was a professor teaching his students about a particular subject. Very awesome stuff in which you'd never believe! As far as Bastard & Friends, there are surprises that are just around the corner for all of you. There's some cool and intriguing things that will emerge within the next few months. We are very excited as our journey will begin to take various twists and turns as we plan to unleash and introduce a whole new product line! Seriously...stay tuned! This is something I highly suggest you keep on board with.

UNTIL WONDERCON 2010...

The end of WonderCon finally came to a rest yesterday evening. After 3 days of countless droves coming in from all over the world throughout the weekend, the affair came to a rest at 5pm. 5pm for the crowd that is. While the attendees and fans were off to their final destinations, we as well as the other exhibitors had to pack up and ship out within 4 hrs. after the show ended. Aside from waiting in line in our vehicles for an extended amount of time to get back into the Moscone center to load our stuff, overall the show went 'EXTREMELY' well. For those who are unaware, this was our very first show since our inception back in MAY 2008. Just in these 3 days we learned a lot about ourselves as a company, I might add. From the feedback from numerous attendees, customers as well as friends and family members, we have a greater understanding of our demographics and our fan base. Everything about the show from beginning to end was definitely a great learning experience that is invaluable. We took away a lot of information from not only observing and analyzing the show itself, but from feedback and insight of other exhibitors and customers/fans. Although, there were one too many key moments spread out across all 3 days, I wanted to highlight a few things that I recalled from the show: fans that are on our 'Don't be a Bastard FACEBOOK' group, MySpace page, those that discovered us on YouTube and some who heard about us from other people/outlets came out to show their love and support! We even had a bunch of them mention that they've never heard of WonderCon or it was their first time at the show, but wanted to come out just to see the items in person, meet us and hear the story and idea behind B&F in person; Ray (can't remember his store name) from LA checking out the show and came across us as he was browsing and was interested in our products. We seen him one day and chatted for a bit. Then he returned the next day because he thought our items would be a good fit in his store. Asked him if he was diggin' the items and his response was... 'If I wasn't, I wouldn't of come back;' there were also multiple people hanging out all 3 days just waiting to see if they won the box of Bastard & Friends goodies box; some even went to the extent of accessing handfuls of flyers/raffles from not only our street team, but from the booth itself in order to increase their odds; Some guy even said 'you guys have the sickest and most detailed packaging I've ever seen in my entire life;' Corrine also brought it to our attention that some person came by just to buy our boxes. Nothing else, just the boxes alone; I also remember standing behind this girl (I believe her name was Carmen) talking to Sharon asking who came up with the idea and how was the brand derived? Shortly after, her response was...'That's Genius!'..then she picked up a Can't Park Bastard shirt and Flat Fitty hat. There were too many incredible moments throughout the whole time especially on Saturday where, by rumor from a good pal at the Moscone Center mentioned 65,0000 tickets were allocated for that day alone, but had to go to a backup plan and sell the years' previous tickets due to them running out that day. The show was outright massive! I also wanted to apologize to those folks who emailed and called us to let us know that they attempted to get into the show, but either were turned away or left because the line was way too long and wrapped around the building.

I truly believe we couldn't of done it without the tremendous help and assistance by each and every one of our staff that manned the booth for 3 straight days (Sharon, Derek, Corrine, Fro, Leah, and Ruel the Artist sketching killer drawings for the customers). Long hours from morning until the night time was the standard. Not to mention our supporters/fans. From our marketing technique of attaching 10,000 raffle tickets to our flyers and having our street team members (Cel, Sunny, Marlon, Fro, Jordan, RJ, Adam, Nate, Casey, Bear, Aura, JC etc.) pass them out at all 4 corners of the corresponding Moscone Center block throughout the 3 days, traffic to our booth probably wouldn't have been as 'hectic.' Especially on Saturday where none of us manning the booth had any time to really breathe, use the restroom, or take a break from the 9hr action. I recall running back and forth from our storage location just to retrieve some of the inventory in order to keep up with the demand. Further, our family, friends and supporters who made an extended effort and commitment of promoting this event for us. Not only was the promoting going on before the show, but also during show hours as well where our supporters came out head to toe in B&F gear and represented all day everyday! WOW!... That is really showing dedication and backing of B&F! It also helped that we were next to some high traffic exhibitors as well: Bob Suicide and the gang from Suicide Girls, our good pals over at Waicom (Tony and Steve), Lindsay and the intriguing booth of Capcom where there were lines just to play Street Fighter 4; Aldo, the lucky Bastard who won the 10am Saturday drawing from Stylin Online whom had a monstrous booth; And the good fellas Curly, Matt and the crew from Halo 8 Entertainment. Moreover, being directly across from the lounge area helped out very well. And lastly, Mike Montes and his crew Eric, Jeff, and Rome for not only letting us store our excess inventory in their office at Moscone and giving us an abundance of privileges, but also for lending out a helping hand throughout all 3 days. Thus, providing us a seamless exhibitor experience! Right on gentlemen! I also wanted to note that our extended family of Dragatomi made the prizes even more appealing by offering some of their cool and collective toys as part of the prize giveaways! You guys are flippin' AWESOME!

'Hey guys,

Just wanted to say that you guys were a blast and we love your products. Hope to see you all at Comic Con this year but we know about the wait period. If you don't make it this year then we will keep our eyes out for ya all til you can. Thanks for the fun and humor that you bring with you. WONDERCON DAY 2

WonderCon day 2 has come and gone! And, what a massive turnout for not only the Moscone Center, but also at the Bastard & Friends booth. There's no words that can describe the experience of today's event. Yesterday was a good day, but today was amazing! The attendance was incredible and it took off immediately before the show even opened at 10am. Again, THANK YOU for all those that came by and took the time to not only purchase our products, but also those who were intrigued and interested about our brand and the story behind it. Further, I was quite compelled of those folks who we've never encountered in our lives, after listening to our story accept our brand wholeheartedly. It truly means a lot to us. And, we definitely appreciate your own Bastard experiences as well. I now believe we all have something in common after numerous conversations. Definitely great conversations with a lot of good people at the show. The day was pretty crazy in general. Non-stop action from 9am - 7pm was the standard. From multiple TV interviews, to giving out the prize giveaways, to entertaining the various people at the booth and supplying a few groups of people with stickers to wear all over them until they left the show, I'd say it was a very productive, but yet tiring day. At the end of it all...Bastard & Friends is ready to rock for tomorrow's show!

THE VEGAS RUSH

Just a few days ago we were over in Las Vegas hanging out over at Magic. For those who are unaware of what MAGIC is, this trade event is essentially the World Series of trade shows relative to the fashion industry. MAGIC takes place twice a year. Once in February for those exhibitors ready to release their Spring/Summer lines and in August for those debuting their Fall/Winter items. This convention is a 3 day event that boasts over hundreds of exhibitors and thousands in attendance during both times that this event takes place. People from all over the world come out and showcase their items such as: mens/womens/children apparel, accessories, and footwear. Further, if one of your objectives is to look for manufacturers that can produce your desired items, there's also a section dedicated to that as well called, Sourcing. Store buyers also make their rounds to numerous brands in search of the latest and most trendy items on the market today. Not to mention, various media coverage and celebrities can also be found lingering around in the vicinity. If you've never attended this show and are in the fashion industry, this is definitely a must see atmosphere. The show is sectioned off into various segments. One area is for Men's; the other called 'WWDMAGIC' is for Women; the third arena is dedicated to children named, 'MAGIC kids'; and the other -- which is located in another building is 'Sourcing at MAGIC.' All of these sectors are packed with people in booths, aisles, and lounge areas. For the most part, we hung around the Men's and Women's shows most of the time where there were countless rows/spines of exhibitors and entertainment. I must say, for those of you looking to be an exhibitor at MAGIC in the near future, Go Big or Go Home! Customized and HUGE booths I might add seems to be the de facto standard along with custom cut & sew items. It's not to say that smaller booths don't get the attention, but I'll just say that they get overlooked a lot of the times. Especially, if you're not a well-known brand since the majority of store buyers already have appointments and know who they want to meet with before the show even happens.

Every time we're in Vegas we always try and make the most out of the trip. Since everyone in Vegas is there only for a short duration, time is not only money, but also of the essence. Hence, the reason why I titled this blog 'The Vegas Rush.' In 3 days we had to manage our time at MAGIC as well as the time spent outside of the show itself. And, it seemed every hour would pass in a flash. Rushing from one event to the next was the routine for 72hrs including very little sleep/down time. After our stints at MAGIC, parties and gatherings kicked off! I'll just summarize the nights and hours well spent last week. The first night was probably the wildest night there. After synching up with Dennis aka Mr. Vegas connect we chilled over at the Palms/Playboy & Moon clubs for a few hours before that got played out and took off in the limo courtesy of Dennis' business partner John whom is the owner of the infamous gentlemen's club: Sapphire. That within itself was crazy! My lips are sealed on this one. You had to have been there to experience what we all, even Leah went through that whole night. The following night wasn't too bad either. We hooked up with Leah's favorite, Bernardo who was bumpin' all night in his Escalade taking us everywhere from Body English over at the Hard Rock to LAX over at the Luxor to put the icing on the cake for the trip. All in all MAGIC and Vegas within itself was great, long, and tiresome! Ran into and met a lot of good people along the way.

Ben Relles and the guys over at Barely Political, a company based out of NY that produces political satire and humorous entertainment sent over a video that was just put up on YouTube 2 days ago featuring the infamous and well-known Amber Lee, whom is essentially the face for all Barely Political's Obama Girl videos rockin' some of the Bastard & Friends tee's. The Barely Political team in combination with Obama Girl have managed to be able to maintain a huge fan base on YouTube since they have joined in 2007. With over 112,000 subscribers, over 5.8 million channel views, and labeled as the 4th most viewed all time Comedy channels as of today, this team has been featured on Newsweek, AOL, People magazine, and Bill O'Reilly (The O'Reilly Factor show on FOXNews) due to one of their web/viral videos of 2007 called, I Got a Crush...on Obama. This video alone is still boiling at a whopping 13.3 million views today and is still on the rise.

CALIFORNIA MUSIC CHANNEL (CMC)

If you are based out of the Bay Area, you would know that
CMC, on channel 8 for both Comcast and ATT is a local music video station that plays a mix of contemporary music. And, one of the on air personalities is a gentlemen named, Chuy Gomez. Not only is Chuy on the CMC channel, he is also part of the Bay Area's most well known Hip Hop and R&B radio station, 106 KMEL. You can listen to him on the weekdays from 5:30am - 10am. Moving along, 'Chu-Dog' was fitted and representin' Bastard & Friends to the fullest on CMC just the other day. Right on Chuy for rockin' the gear and giving us a shout out! Much appreciated, buddy!

WEKFEST IMPORT CAR SHOW

Imagine this... a gathering comprised of some of the most wicked, appealing, unique, and customized import cars combined with hot (or not) models all bundled in an underground parking garage located in Japan town, San Francisco. That was the scene all day today over at WEKFEST hosted by Weksos Industries. As a visual, you can imagine the event as something taken from the movie 'The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift' during the garage scene when Sean (main character) and Twinkie (Bow Wow) entered the garage before Sean's first drift race. Tricked out cars; DJ playing music; import models and of course an overwhelming 90% + Asian crowd were all in attendance. The whole crew from the NORCAL chapter of Team Hybrid were making themselves comfortable and showing their love and support for Bastard & Friends in a handful of spots of their very own tricked out cars.

ANOTHER SMASH HIT

Another exhilarating event was showcased over the weekend by our boys from the Ivy Leegue and Slim from 112. Just to give you a synopsis of what went down on Friday evening over at Club Mighty, the event was yet again jam packed, exciting, and entertaining, to say the least. With an acceptable amount of fans in attendance to show their love and support for both Slim and the Ivy Leegue was something so surreal and unimaginable. If you didn't get a chance to witness the bold and energetic performances by both, well...let's just say "you snooze, you lose!" Both the Ivy Leegue and Slim all jumped on stage together. With their counterparts and supporters right behind them, the Ivy Leegue (Skuba, Break, and JMOE), rockin' the Ivy Leegue/Damjn/Bastard & Friends gear kicked things off by passing out their bumpin' CD Mr. Superbadd out to the screaming and desperate fans seeking for the next hottest thing to play in their CD players. Shortly after, a few tracks from the CD were performed by them. With Slim to their right and the Damjn crew to their left along with Bastard & Friends spread out through out the crowd as well as other various supporters/sponsors, it seemed like one big family affair! As I was on stage with them acting like a Paparazzi Bastard and capturing every moment (at least I tried), I witnessed the crowds' hands and arms moving forward and back with the infamous Ivy Leegue symbolic hand gesture in the air. This to me showed much love and respect to the crew. A few songs later, it was Slim's turn to rock the house. Slim, rockin' a black beanie, black jacket, shades, and of course a few pounds of bling around his neck, ears and wrist made it evident to the sea of people that he still can put out a smash vocal performance without his old crew beside him, 112. Some of the songs performed were: his new release 'So Fly' as well as a jam released back in 1996, 'Cupid.' All in all, both performances were put respectively well and the event itself was another smash put together by none other, Boogie Events Company.

In the next few days, I'll put a link to more pictures. Unfortunately, I've been having some technical difficulties with my gadgets lately. But, for now here are a few pics to please your eyes as well as some film footage from the event.

NEW BASTARD FILM/DESIGN COMING SOON!

First off, I wanted to apologize for the lack of blog posts! Bastard & Friends was out and about in Orlando Florida for the past week. A post regarding this trip will be surfacing soon. Stay tuned!

OK, so back to the original topic. As we look ahead into our Series2 future Bastard releases, one of the elements that come into play is the film/animation perspective. Most of you are aware that when a 'Bastard scenario based' shirt is conceived, there is also a short film that is also affiliated with the design. Here's a little bit of background regarding our designs that are 'scenario based' for those who have been sleeping under a rock for the past 8 months: during the conceptualize phase, we choose a Bastard story/scenario that we or others like yourself have encountered. For example, 'The Can't Park Bastard.' We then proceed with the design phase of interpreting what that specific design would look like on a shirt based on the story of the Bastard itself. Meanwhile, we also write-up the story of the Bastard based on the facts and events pertaining to the individual(s). Thereafter, a decision is then determined as to what goodies will be included with the shirt. In Series1, we included collectible, real 16pt. stock baseball cards that are the same weight/layout as Pro Baseball collectible cards such as 'Topps.' Still undecided about Series2 giveaways, if any. Now, comes the fun part. We decided long ago to separate ourselves from most other brands by not only customizing everything we do, but also including a short film/animation with the majority of our Bastards. This, and sorry for saying it again for those who already know what we're all about, provided folks a direct correlation with the shirt/design. So, if people looked at our designs and said to themselves 'I don't get it'...well, watch the film/animation and there you go. In Series1, we offered the public traditional animations. But, for Series2 we chose to take a different approach. This time around, we will be incorporating not only the traditional animation method, but also live reality action. The best example would be something similar to, Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Since our upcoming films needed special attention and detail due to the complexity and assimilating content of the combination of live action and animation, we decided to onboard a very talented young film director from So. Cal, PeeDeeFlo to assist us. This dude is raw, mind-blowing, stunning, and most of all creative! A director known for his YouTube channel that consists currently of over 20,000 subscribers and over 500,000 channel views, PeeDeeFlo takes risks, pushes the envelope and as most would describe him as simply...'sick!' If you don't belive me, check out some of his videos below:

As the film has already been shot as of last week and PeeDeeFlo is currently working through the edits and cuts of the first Bastard to be released, I'll give you a glimpse of the 'Bastard Scenario' via pictures shot over the weekend. So, what Bastard is coming out next?...it's one that is most common amongst are society right now. I'm sure this person is in the same proximity as you as you are reading this. His name...'The Bad Breath Bastard.' Story line and additional details are soon to follow. But, for now you can just enjoy the photos of the setup/atmosphere -- which takes place at a party in So. Cal. The party and setup of the actors/performers as well as the cameras and lights were complimentary of P-D-Flo Films.

Jay-Z couldn't of said it any better in his song "30 something!" Another person that joins this league of 30 year olds is our beautiful and close partner of Bastard & Friends, Jenise! Held at an exquisite wine bar located in Miami Beach, FL., Jenise finally is initiated into the "30's the new 20" club. And, to show her our support for this commemorading once in a lifetime event, we sent over 30 B&F gift bags filled with goodies to distribute to her close friends/family. Some of the items that were put into those bags were belts, collector cards and a few other items. And, not to mention...ummmm women's panties supplied by her mom. Yes, you read that right, her mom! Gotta love Mom!

These B&F bags are usually only part of our orders distribution, but since this is for a special occasion...what the heck! It's Jenise's birthday!

Notable Updates

As promised, we would keep you abreast with what's happening with Bastard & Friends. Our first design of the year kicked off 2 days ago (see blog entry below). But now, the time has come for a totally new and fresh look of our logo. Revamped from our original classic black & white logo that was released back in May 2008, this new tee inherits a new and invigorating look that offers bold colors. A few drips here and there on the front side hit as if a graffiti artist were to throw this up on a wall essentially defines the aesthetic of the shirt. Not to mention, we've decided to span across more of the real estate on the shirt. Further, this time around we made absolutely sure that we didn't miss the back of the shirt either. When we were conceptualizing this design, we wanted to make it apparent that Bastard & Friends was a brand that addressed the flaws and Bastard incidents within our society (at least a few of them during this time), so we made the "Bastard Commandments" to be displayed. In addition, to highlight our commonly used phrase "Don't be a Bastard!," we decided to take 1 letter from each commandment in order to complete this. So, if you take clear note, you'll notice that there are certain letters in blue that constitute the whole entire phrase.

Key Notes: Expected release date: beginning to mid FEB09. Tee will be printed on an American Apparel shirt. Sizes offered will be S-XL and will only be for men, currently (this is subject to change, however). Designer: Rashaun, an original customer now turned B&F designer based out of Minnesota (IntegralApparel). This is just one of many designs that Rashaun has cooked up for us. Stay tune for more to come in the future.

A few more updates for the next coming weeks:
- Sneak preview of our 'exclusive' shirt "THE NOT-SO-SUPER Hero Bastards" that will be released at the upcoming WonderCon event in SF (last weekend of FEB 09). This is one you don't want to miss as it takes into consideration many things involving the event and the comic industry.

- Detailed information on the WonderCon event that will include prize giveaways and surprises. Our street team will be in full force strapped with detailed information on how to get free stuff. New Release Today! Paparazzi Bastards

First out of the gates for 2009, is a new and exclusive Bastard scenario tee called the 'Paparazzi Bastards.' Historically, this tee was created back in May 2008 and was originally made for those individuals that had and still continue to have numerous encounters with the Paparazzi (ie: celebrities). Since we always base all of our scenario based tee's off of real life events that manifest within our society, during the time this t-shirt concept was derived, Britney Spears' privacy was continually being invaded by them (during her divorce with Kevin Federline). No matter what time of day or outing, whether she was hanging out at Starbucks or simply enjoying a normal day out with her children, the Paparazzi were always surveilling her, it seemed. That's how the idea was born. You'll notice on the women's tee that the female (victim) is wearing a pink wig, also. The explanation behind this is because during the time she was going through her hardship and trying to find herself as a person, she was seen wearing a pink wig during various occasions. We also didn't forget about the men's perspective either. Unfortunately, we don't have a juicy story that resembles the female version, but I'm sure you can find a person in the lime light that equates to the tee. As mentioned in previous posts we were not going to release these out to the public, but only to the celebrities or those that encountered situations where they felt their lives were being invaded by the Paparazzi. After an adequate amount of inquiries we decided to give the masses what they've finally been asking for! Rock these tee's if you sympathize for these folks or simply because your behavior favors or mirrors the Paparazzi. As we at Bastard & Friends like to say 'Have you experienced the bastard...or are you the bastard!?' Enjoy with great pleasure!

First glimpse at women's cut & sew

As promised based on my last blog, we plan to keep everyone up-to-date with everything that goes on with Bastard & Friends. And, here is the first glimpse at a few cut & sew pieces for the women that will be making their way into our lives within the next few months. Keep in mind these pieces will be revised and will go through a series of phases before these are released out to the public. But, I wanted to show all of you what's in store in the subsequent months to follow. As we go through the various phases of our upcoming garments, I plan to keep you informed as much as possible -- which means I'll take you through the step-by-step process into the effort being put forth into each and every one of our garment pieces. For the most part, we plan to fully utilize our logo to accentuate our cut & sew items. These are just 2 of the many items that will be released for women this year, 2009.

A Few Changes

I met up with our web guy and close friend of mine Sean from UmiDesign the other day to go over a handful of changes revolving around the current functionality and appearance of our website. As we transcend past the year 2008 and look forward towards a new road ahead of us filled with defiance for 2009, there have been countless thoughts running through our (Bastard & Friends) minds regarding our upcoming plans pertaining to our clothes + hats + film/animations + collaborations and website related pieces. Ideally, we plan to keep everyone informed openly and transparently about all things relating to Bastard & Friends, to say the least throughout the whole year. Getting back to the website topic, we plan to implement a number of things that are more subtle while other changes are more dramatic than others from our perspective. Our objective is to ensure that the site is fresh, dynamic, easy to navigate and cool; plain and simple.

Below is a snapshot of the content that we will be incorporating and or modifying to the website within the next few months:

* Warp Zone Page (will be totally revamped): will now include upcoming events that we will be participating in; adding a 'videos' section that will contain B&F related cuts; in order to accommodate the high number of current and future photos, we will fully utilize the functionality of flickr.

* Store Pages: 'All' section to be removed. This will be replaced with images that will lead to their respective subcategories (ie:, New & Featured, Girls, Guys, and Accessories); all scenario based related bastard shirts to include/embed the 'Bastard Profile' video/animation on each page. This provides the direct correlation between the actual t-shirt and the video so that you don't have to click to go to the 'Meet the Bastards' section to view the video while you're looking at the t-shirt. The animations/films will still be available via the 'Meet the Bastards' section, however.

* Misc: header bar to now include link to our newly Facebook group page; top header image that contains a collage of the bastards with billboard sign will no longer just be one static image. Images will soon be dynamic and swapped out to display a new and fresh look.

As updates to our website become available, we'll be publishing them on our blog so that everyone is aware of what's going on. Stay posted!

The Perfect Day

Continued from the previous blog 'Time to rip the mountain,' Marcel and I ended up heading over to Heavenly ski resort to shred one of the mountain sides of blissful Lake Tahoe. Hours later and a total of 17 runs that were ensued, each and every run down the California side of the resort (there's also a Nevada side) was filled with vigor. Ripping and shredding each and every course possible was our game plan from the time the resort opened -- which was at 8:30am. The day couldn't have been more perfect than yesterday -- which is the reason why I titled this blog 'The Perfect Day.' Clear visibility and the temperature alternating around the upper 40's and low 50's and aside from all the Bastard snowboarders and skiers who had the propensity to just stop in the middle of the trail/mountain, the day started and ended beautifully. The best part about the trip was that we basically had the whole mountain to ourselves along with a few sprinkles of people here and there for about 2 hrs. when the park opened. Hence, this allowed us to attack and crush all the trails that were in front of us along with a few nice jumps along the way until the crowd started to settle in. This is how we managed to get the first 11 or so runs in. Marcel and I agreed at the end of the day that we haven't had this much of a field day snowboarding in a long while!

Going home on the lift. If you look closely, you'll notice the parking lot at the very bottom of the right. Yes, we were pretty high up there. And, how about that amazing view of Lake Tahoe!

Tired, bruised shins from my socks not staying up past my calves, and 17 runs later, I'm ready to leave and get our grub on over at the 'Hard Rock Cafe.'

Time to rip the mountain

Nothing besides the holiday season gets me amped more than thinking about the blankets of snow that tend to cover the mountains of Lake Tahoe. Home to a number of prominent ski resorts such as: Heavenly, NorthStar, Sugar Bowl, Squaw, and Sierra just to name a few, Lake Tahoe is a must see destination on the West Coast for the thrill-seeking individual(s) looking to shred the the mountains in the winter. Going on our 10th year of riding together, my good friend Marcel and I will be exploding down and ripping the mountain tops of one of the previously mentioned resorts tomorrow! I'm so pumped right now writing this blog that my fingers are shaking just thinking about tomorrow's excursion! I anticipate a perfect ride day across all terrains ranging from pow (powder) in between the trees and the backcountry as well as the groomed trails and parks tomorrow since the latest weather report indicates a near 45 degrees with clear visibility. Not to mention, 4 Ft. of new snowfall within the past few days laying on top of the summit while a little over 2 Ft. is still hanging around the base. Now, I just need to make sure that my iphone is fully charged because I know for a fact I'm going to be in a zone listening to tunes ranging from: Linkin Park, Rise Against, Social Distortion, KORN, P.O.D, DJ Tiesto, Eminem, Planet Asia, Black Star, Tha Alkaholiks, EPMD, Binary Star and many others. DAMN, I'm pumped!

This is all I need to get me by minus the pants/jacket/iphone/Red Bull: Custom 160 Burton board (This board is about to be end-of-life after this year), helmet just in case I hit a tree, Dragon goggles to keep my eye site intact, gloves to keep the hands warm, and strap bindings to keep me stuck to the board. As you can see, I have two sets of bindings. One is the Custom Burton bindings and the other are K2. After last season of riding with the K2 bindings, it was evident that I needed to switch back to my originals since they were much more comfortable and easier to get out of (just ask Marcel who had to try and pull me out of them a few times last year at Heavenly). Too bad K2. I love the design and effort put behind them, but my old Burton's still kick ass!

8 Mile

First off I want to apologize for not putting this blog up sooner. I just want to emphasize that it was one hell of a night! So, onwards...

Take the scene from the movie 8 mile when Eminem (B-Rabbit) crushes his opponent in the last freestyle battle of the movie and the crowd is going mayhem. And, that's what the scenery looked like at last nights' Shine Party featuring Damjn & Ivy Leegue held over at the notorious 111 Minna Gallery in downtown SF hosted by none other, Boogie Events Co. The turnout was immense and the spectacle was incredible! The performance showcased by not only Damjn, but also the Ivy Leegue demonstrated that none of these dudes are going anywhere for awhile. Let me provide you with a little bit of a visual if you missed out on the opportunity to enjoy a fun and eventful evening with all of us who were in attendance. The gallery was at max capacity once again and the crowd spilled out on the sidewalk and the streets during numerous occasions; Damjn & the Ivy Leegue both took front and center stage (yes, there was a stage) at approximately 12:30 am just after Erk the Jerk and the Renegades (B-boy crew) ignited the crowd. Ivy Leegue (Outbreak & Skuba) kicked off their first track 'My Swagger is On' -- which queued the runway models to display Damjn's hot and trendy streetwear pieces -- which was the case throughout their entire performance. If you scanned and observed the crowd, it was evident that the people were embracing the harsh and lyrical bangin', head-bobbin' beats and tracks of the Ivy Leegue. Not to mention the garments that the models were rockin'. Further, to add more excitement to the already hyped up crowd, free shirts were thrown out. Lastly, there were occasions where it felt like the paparazzi's were in the building from all of the camera lights going off constantly.

To end the night, a few of us ended up back over at Leah's to finalize the night.

All in all, it was another memorable and exciting night for all of us. Great job Boogie Events Co., Ivy Leegue and Damjn! And, of course a huge 'THANK YOU' to all the B&F supporters that came through and represented with their attire and stickers! It truly means a lot to us! Right on for Cultured Roots representin' as well. Oh, and to the guy (sorry I forgot your name) that tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I was Jon/Jonathan from B&F and who mentioned he's an avid reader of my blog. 'Thank you' for reading and being interested!

WONDERCON 2009

Bastard & Friends is finally showcasing their gear as well as a few exclusive items in 2009. And, what better place to kick things off, but at an expo where last year's gathering catered to more than 29,000 attendees over the course of 3 days. That massive assemblage is in affiliation with the largest comic book and popular arts convention known as Comic-Con held in San Diego every year.

The exhilarating event where we are more than excited to undertake in and bring our items to the public is WonderCon -- which will be held at the Moscone Center in downtown SF commencing on FEB 27th - MAR 1st, 2009. Just like it's big brother Comic-Con, WonderCon is also an annual convention that houses retailers, artists, and early screenings/previews of some of the most intriguing movies featured in comic books all under one roof. So comic book aficionados, superhero wannabes and everyone else in between, we hope you mark these special dates down and we welcome you to stop by the show and visit our booth (Booth #242). IMPORTANT NOTE: if you're looking for 'Bastard & Friends' on the program, you won't find us. Due to the kid friendly/open to all ages atmosphere, we were forced to go with the name 'B and F.' I know...pretty lame, eh. But, rules are rules so this is what we have to live with for this type of show.

As we approach the days leading up to the event, you'll be seeing a few things on our blog/social communities/forums etc., indicating special prizes and offerings that we will be granting each day at the show. You don't want to miss out as we are ramping up to entertain you with cool and hidden treasures! So, stay tune!

Despite the storm

That finally hit the Bay Area after weeks of no rain, a few of the B&F members (me, Sharon, Derek, LeRoid, and Fatima) attended the Launch SF sample party hosted by Indie Industries over at the 'W Hotel' in downtown SF to check out not only some of the hip and trendy items presented by a few of the up-and-coming designers and boutiques from the Bay Area, but also to network with a few of them. At most, it was a very small and intimate atmosphere that catered to the posh individuals seeking apparel, jewelry, and collectibles. Amid the financial crisis that America and the rest of the world is partaking in, there were still a decent amount of shoppers still making purchases -- which is definitely a great thing to see! Along the way, we stumbled upon a few people that were of interest. I would like to take a moment to highlight some of these designers: Sam, Sammy, and Gary from Divide & Conquer Clothing, Ian from Swordapop, Mark from Turk & Taylor, and Shinya from Magnote.

By that, I mean their jackets/sweaters contain embellishments that compliment one another. From the details and work of the lining inside their hoods to various stitch patterns inside & out, even down to the custom zipper pulls, the bells & whistles always are important factors from my perspective! Great job, guys! We all look forward to seeing more customized garments in the near future

We always end the day/night with something fulfilling. And, without question there are a few favorite spots located in the 'Westfield' mall based in Union Square in the heart of SF that we seem to never pass up. The first is a restaurant located in the food court called 'Out the Door' and just around the corner, the delightful Melt (Gelato & Crepe Cafe).

Sharon and I met with our pals from Dragatomi over at Gallery Nineteen Eighty Eight located in downtown SF to check out some of the creative pieces curated by Luke Chueh, Joel Ledbetter, Thomas Han, and Sharon's favorite artist Kathie Olivas as well as other ingenious artists on display at the gallery.

Shortly after, we then made a trip over to Japan town across the way to indulge our appetites with a bowl of Ramen noodles over at 'Tanpopo.' And, since the majority of the discussion around the table was in regard to toys, ie:, vinyl/plush toys and anything alike, we decided to stroll over to one of the coolest Toy+Art stores in the area, Super 7.

A triumphant performance was delivered by the best pound-for-pound boxer tonight, Manny Pacquiao. After a tremendous effort of out gunning one of boxing's biggest icon today, Oscar De La Hoya gives up at the end of Round 8. With a swollen eye claiming the left side of De La Hoya's face, Oscar is sent to the hospital immediately following the battering for a precautionary examination. WOW!

Just a few new extras

Look what just arrived at our doorstep. Another shipment of women's hoodies (S-XL) as well as another set of garments, men's button-ups I might add, for the upcoming 2009 season.

Putting an emphasis on the button-ups, these are just a few of the items that are in store for all of you in the near future (see the cool headwear piece coming out next year also). As we progress into a new year in the subsequent months, we have been working diligently on bringing you more items spawning from our brand. Working extraordinary hours in order to deliver a new set of products is forever part of our daily regimen these days. Anyone or brand who has put in effort to deliver cut & sew garments understands what I'm talking about. We have vigorously been through multiple phases of garment manufacturing with our various resources for months now. And, when I say multiple phases, I really mean that. In order to achieve the look and feel of the desired garment(s), this is already our 5th phase.

Woven tags on the front are a must on a majority of our button-ups. One of the small things that you'll notice as part of our logo now contains the 'R' mark. Yes, after almost a year of being trademarked 'TM' we are now fully registered. Goodness, it took forever it seems.

Stay posted as we will continue to display bits and pieces of our items for 2009.

As you can already see, we expect bigger and better things to come our way for the upcoming year. Did I mention, we're not going anywhere! This is just the beginning. For the most part we are delving into other things besides apparel in the next year as well. Only our close counter-parts are aware of our expectations and deliverables since we put a gag order on them. I'm just kidding. Seriously, just expect B&F to expand and hit a broader audience.

We here at B&F have a thing for getting high off of our fan mail that comes into our mailboxes. And, these few pieces of mail are more than just enlightening; they are motivational in all aspects. You see, after reading these emails, this is the justification as to why we continue to strive and commit ourselves to the Bastard & Friends project. It's extremely refreshing to hear people you have never come across in your life that are hundreds and thousands of miles away be so excited and happy to see their package. It honestly blows our minds every single day when we see and hear things like this. I can only imagine the huge smile on their face(s)! Paparazzi Bastards

On a beautiful day and night in the city of San Francisco takes place yet another photo shoot in preparation for our Series2 Bastard release that will soon emerge onto the market in the early phases of 2009. As we position ourselves for a much more anticipated and profound year ahead of us, aside for more head wear and accessories, will egress another series of scenario based t-shirts that will resonate deeply within the majority of the masses that constitute our society. Especially, amongst women. Going back to the topic of 'Paparazzi Bastards,' if you've been an aficionado of Bastard & Friends since our inception, you'll recall sometime back in May of this year (2008) we released a scenario based t-shirt called 'The Paparazzi Bastard' -- which was created by two of our artists (LeRoid from SF and Francesca from Italy). From that time on until now, those shirts were only delivered to the individuals that came across the Paparazzi on a frequent basis (ie: celebrities) and were originally 'not' going to be sold to the general public. Well, in order to accommodate the massive requests from our customers/fans, we have decided to finally release these in the near future.

OK, so on to the photo shoot. Four individuals I wanted to highlight that graciously took part in this were a few good friends of ours: Melody, a dance enthusiast based out of Los Angeles and who was the runner-up for Fox's 'So You Think You Can Dance' Season 1 and Outbreak from the up-and-coming Hip Hop group, 'Ivy Leegue.' And, it wouldn't have been done without the help of our photographer 'Gene Rimando' who has a track record for doing photo shoots for some of the most beautiful import models such as: Christine Mendoza as well as Francine Dee. And, lastly Leah for getting the team together and the location.

We then ended up feasting over at a Brazilian steakhouse called Cleo's located in San Bruno and then ended up on Haight St. in SF with the rest of the gang (Chris and Marie).

Our early holiday 'Fat Tuesday' sale started off with a bang yesterday (starting at midnight)! Below is a picture of a few of the orders that were shipped out yesterday.

I must say, I didn't realize how many people out there felt the same was as us towards the following bastards: freeloading bastard, unsanitary bastard, and the rude bastard in the movie theater. These scenario based t-shirts flew off the shelves fairly quickly! A few of our loyal customers even purchased all 3 at the same time in order to complete their collection of series 1 bastards (shirts and collector baseball card(s) that are included with every order).
